First Look at Battlefield 3′s Battlelog Service

If you’ve somehow missed it, Battlefield 3 will have a new feature called Battlelog. It will be a stat-tracking, social network of sorts for Battlefield players to connect, share war stories and more.
Speaking of Battlelog, it looks like we now have the first pics of the service in all its glory! (courtesy of Battlefieldo)
GamerSpawn has turned our article into a video analysis, so head over to your number one YouTube channel if you are too lazy to read! If not, please read on… ;)
You can clearly see that it highlights the game’s campaign, co-op mode and multiplayer, also giving you details on each. For singleplayer it details where you left off and for co-op and multiplayer, it shows how many of your friends are online and playing what. One thing I’d also like to add is that we can see a “filter” option in multiplayer. Could this mean joining specific game modes is easier compared to Battlefield: Bad Company 2? I sure hope so.
Next thing you’ll notice right away is on the left side it shows what level your character’s on, how many more experience points are needed to rank up and what awards/unlocks are next in line.
On the middle part of the page it appears that there will be a live-feed of sorts going on between you and your friends. It definitely has that Facebook vibe going for it, no? You can “like” someone’s status and you can also see your friends’ forum posts.
Now that we have that out of the way, let’s move on to the next Battlelog picture.
In this picture we can see the player’s overall stats for each class. What upgrades you’ve unlocked, hours played, your score per minute and has tabs for awards, vehicles and more.
It also shows the time each player has with a certain class (kit), accuracy and the all-important kill/death ratio for you kill-conscious players out there.
Don’t quote me on this, but it also looks like the big soldier pic on the left side can be changed to your picture. Just a guess, but it looks like it.
Finally we move on to the last picture. It will really remind you of Facebook…or is it just me?
The “Com Center” sure looks like Facebook’s chat, no? It will show what platform you and your friends are playing on and will allow for voice-chat. What’s interesting is the “join” button that will allow you to join a server. Also, you can see who’s offline and there’s a section in the chat called “dropzone.” Any guesses on what it could be?
And that’s about it. Most of the observations are educated guesses on my end, we won’t know for sure until EA and DICE releases official details. Battlelog will be released officially when Battlefield 3 launches and it will cost nothing for you to use.
One more thing to add, it’s pretty obvious they used Battlefield: Bad Company 2 images as placeholder pics for Battlelog, obvious but it bears mentioning.
What do you think of Battlelog so far? Let us know in the comments.

BFacebook...... Great
Look like no more class level?
I´d say the Dropzone looks like you can drop in people for voice chat. Makes the most sense with the boxes around ;)
They should really see how COD elite is, hope they can stand againts it, and if necessary improve it with the help of the comunity.
Epic
Nice, but I hope is not laggy when people open the site.
I say YAY!!
