Fallout: New Vegas Honest Hearts Bugs Out
By Rick Givens | May 20, 2011 | News | 1 comment | Share
We all know there have been numerous issues with the Fallout series since Fallout 3. In Fallout: New Vegas, bugs once again rose to the surface, causing problems across all platforms. Now, with the release of the Honest Hearts DLC, yet again players are reporting issues so bad as to not even be able to load it up and play.
Turns out a known issue with the ED-E side quest is preventing the latest DLC from even loading up, and the forums are raging. A note on the Bethblog from Community Manager Nick Breckton states a patch is in the works, but that it may not apply to a saved game where the crash is already occurring. In that case, he writes “you’ll need to revert to an earlier save prior to ED-E leaving in order to play through Honest Hearts.” On the forums however, Nick followed up today with this post “Just talked to the team: the new patch will provide a way to force your companions to leave your party, thus allowing anyone still encountering the ED-E bug to start up Honest Hearts without reverting to a new save or starting a new character. More info on that patch to come”
No further comment has come either from the Community Manager or other sources at Bethesda Some general advice for Steam users is to verify the integrity of the game’s cache, but from personal experience, I have rarely found that to be useful. My best advice is to wait for a patch, and try not to throw things at the wall.
Keep an eye out, if anything shakes loose, we will let you know.
So karzy
