If you’re curious to what romance options you’ll have in Mass Effect 3, you’re in luck. PC Gamer has an exclusive interview with Mass Effect 3 Executive Producer Casey Hudson and they cover this exact topic.
The bad news is it looks like we won’t be getting new characters to romance in Mass Effect 3.
“In this one, we don’t really have new characters that are part of the romance stuff in the way that we did in Mass Effect 2, where we introduced a lot of characters. So this is more about how you, if you’re a new player, how you start these romances with the existing characters.”
Hudson added that they have “some interesting things happening” when you have “Ashley and Kaiden from the first game, you’ve got Liara, and there’s sort of a love triangle there.”
What about gay/lesbian love affairs? Hudson said, “Well yeah, it’s going to be similar to Mass Effect 1 and 2. Like I say, we’re not introducing any new characters that are going to be love interests. There’s some new characters, but generally it’s going to be the interplay between the characters from 2 and the returning ones from 1, and then Liara as the one that’s… either asexual or omnisexual, depends on how you look at it.”
That’s not all; the producer also took to his twitter to add a little more spice to all this romance talk.
“Happy to confirm #ME3 supports wider options for love interests incl. same-sex for m&f chars, reactive to how you interact w/them in-game.”
The news sounds promising enough, but I wonder why there’s always no mention of Miranda when people talk about these things. Who did you pick in Mass Effect 2 and would you pick them again if given the chance?
