BioWare announced the date when early access to their upcoming MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, for December 13th, 2011 – just seven days before the game officially launches.
But don’t rush off to the pre-order this game right after you finish browsing this post. This week-long grace period is being granted to anyone who pre-orders The Old Republic, but some users have reported that the full seven day head-start may not be available to everybody. ”Early Game Access may be up to seven days,” BioWare’s email clarifies in its fine print. “The length of your Early Game Access depends on the date and order in which you redeemed your Pre-Order Code.” Early access, therefor, ”will be granted during the Early Game Access period in the order pre-orders are redeemed.”
Star Wars: The Old Republic recently ended a final round of beta testing, during which some 725,000 people logged in to stress-test the BioWare game servers. The final game is due out later this month, and will be the first MMORPG for the acclaimed game developer.
