Mandatory 2GB Patch for PC Users Promises to Fix Tactical Light and Other Problems in Battlefield 3

DICE, developers of the popular military shooter Battlefield 3, have announced that the PC version of the game will receive a 2GB patch tomorrow, December 6. The patch will include several fixes for performance issues for the current game as well as “most of the content for Back to Karkand,” the forthcoming DLC addition to the game (also set for release tomorrow on the Playstation 3). DICE went on to say that the inflated size of the patch is due in part to the Karkand addition, and assured that in the future DLC content will hopefully be optional.
The bug promises to fix several glaring errors that have been nagging at gamers since the game was released. Chief among these being a tweak for the Tactical Light that has been blinding players over long distances.
No details are confirmed as to whether or not these patches aim to fix similar issues for console players in the near future. A full list of changes that will go into effect is detailed by this meticulous post on Battlelog.
