Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has continued to astound journalists and media lovers beyond the world of videogames for its incredible and seemingly endless power to absorb money. Now, Gamasutra has reported that the game finished its fourth consecutive week, even increasing sales by two percent week-over-week.

So according to data provided by the sales tracking firm Chart-Track, as of December 3, the game has not budged from its seat at the top of UK sales charts since its launch. When the sales figures are broken down to individual platforms (see below), Just Dance 3 did edge out Modern Warfare 3′s number-two spot on the Playstation 3, but the XBox version of the shooter remained strong at number one.

The top-ten charts have remained relatively consistent over the past few weeks as several popular and anticipated titles have finally found their way onto the shelves. Only one new game–Nintendo’s Mario Kart 7 for the 3DS–was added to the list since last week at number 8 on the charts. Despite some shuffling, most AAA titles such as Fifa 12, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Saints Row: The Third, Professor Layton and the Spectre’s Call, Battlefield 3 and Super Mario 3D Landall hanging around roughly the same spots as the previous week.

So enjoy that cigar, Price. Sounds like you’ve earned it.
