Rumor: Modern Warfare 3 Logo and Box Art Leaked, Call of Duty: Elite Coming

Activision has announced that there will be a Call of Duty game coming later this year, but from which developer and from which Call of Duty lineage?

It’s been heavily rumored that this year’s Call of Duty game will be Modern Warfare 3, a direct sequel to 2009’s hit shooter with Infinity Ward back at the helm with other CoD studios such as Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software helping out.

It looks like we finally have a bit of confirmation. From Electric Hydra’s forums come a leak of Modern Warfare 3’s supposed logo.

It certainly looks legitimate, but it could also be a very well made Photoshop job made by a Call of Duty fan.

What’s even more interesting is there’s another logo and this is for Call of Duty: Elite. It is not known at this time if Modern Warfare 3 and Elite are somehow connected. Elite could also possibly be the long-rumored Call of Duty: Online which is being developed by Beachhead Studios.

The name “Elite” could also possibly hint at Activision’s Call of Duty premium service, which the publisher has also hinted at in the past.

The screenshot of Elite’s logo can be seen here (via Destructoid).

Keep in mind these are all rumors, but they certainly seem legitimate enough, especially now that we’re nearing E3. It’s expected that the newest Call of Duty game is to be revealed in the coming weeks ahead of E3.
