DCUO Revenue Sees a 700% Increase in Revenue

Sony Online Entertainment has quite a few things to be happy about. We mentioned the maddening number of new registered members after DC Universe Online went F2P, but now we have even more numbers for reference! John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment went on a bit of a rave yesterday on his Twitter feed.

First off, the playerbase is growing by 6% each day. There’s a 700% increase in daily revenue, of which 47% are courtesy of the PC and 53% courtesy of the PlayStation 3 playerbase. And more than 85% of daily log-ins are returning players.

I wasn’t playing DCUO as much as I had hoped, mostly because Skyrim happened, but in part due to the insane queues, where I’d have to wait in line with 9000 other players. Thankfully, Mr. Smedley has also confirmed that they’re working on adding new hardware to fix the long queue issues, so happy days of being a villain in Gotham are soon upon us!

Amazing. I'm one of those new players to the game..must say the download time was tedious but worth it!

@Rafael - I've been playing it on and off at a very slow pace, but so far it's nice fun. Quite a different feel from most MMOs.
