Assassin’s Creed: Revelations Won’t Have Always-On DRM

One of the reasons I have yet to purchase or play an Assassin’s Creed game is because of the abysmal DRM that has plagued the PC versions. A DRM system so vile, it actually managed to ruin my impression of the quite good Might and Magic Heroes VI. Well, RockPaperShotgun have reported some good news. While not completely doing away with the online requirement, you’ll only be prompted to activate the game online once when you first run it. That’s far more reasonable than what we had to deal with before. This might actually motivate me to look into Revelations. I only hope Ubisoft update their previous titles to change the old DRM to this variant.
The PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is due on December 2, two and a half weeks after its console counterparts.
