Midnight Launches of Skyrim Officially Announced in the UK

In an official post on the developer’s blog last night, Bethesda announced plans for the UK midnight release party launch event for the eagerly awaited new installment in their Elder Scrolls series, Skyrim. The first 250 people waiting in line at each store, the statement reads, “will receive a Skyrim goody bag,” while the first 100 people will each receive a free copy of the official Skyrim strategy guide and the game’s soundtrack.

For the truly diehard fans who put on their sunday best for dragon-slaying, Skyrim cosplay contestants are automatically entered into a special contest to win five more prizes. The Best Cosplay winner will receive an Xbox 360, free upgrade to the Skyrim Collector’s Edition, Skyrim t-shirts, Skyrim strategy guide, Skyrim music CD, and the original Skyrim goody bag. Four runners up will also receive  a free upgrade to the Skyrim Collector’s Edition, Skyrim t-shirts, Skyrim strategy guide, Skyrim music CD, and Skyrim goody bag. Visitors of GAME London will even have a chance to be photographed with a real-life, er, replica of the titular Elder Scrolls of the acclaimed series.

These two launch events are taking place at GAME London on Oxford Street and Gamestation Birmingham on New Street. Skyrim will be released for PC, Playstation 3, and XBox 360 this Friday.
